FAQs
FAQS
Do I need to supply anything? No. Quality treatment table, towels, oils, lotion and music are all provided.
Where is the treatment? We come to you at your home, rental, hotel or yacht. Reasonable access and parking is required to bring this service to you, therefore your exact location is requested.
*HOTEL BOOKINGS* It is essential you confirm with the receptionist before booking that they permit mobile physiotherapist treatments in guest rooms, and provide us with their name, as some hotels do not permit this external service. Please note; if we arrive and are denied access due to a lack of prior confirmation, the full appointment fee will apply.
Can you do groups? Yes. A duo of therapists can come and take care of you, so book in your cycle team, whole family or group of friends.
What do I wear? For your physiotherapy session, wear loose clothing in which you can move freely and access the area of complaint. For your massage session, you remain in your underwear while covered with towels throughout the massage.
I have a treatment table at home/on the boat already, can I use that?
Yes. Please do let me know if you have a suitable treatment table available on the day.Who is physiotherapy for? Physiotherapy treats a myriad of conditions. Rehabilitation post surgery or injury is essential to optimise recovery. Specific treatments are used in neurological and lung conditions. Regular or one or two of hands on sessions can free up that niggling pain or get you moving or sleeping better.
Who is massage for? Everyone. Therapeutic massage can benefit you whether old or young, sporty or not. It is tailored to your needs and we will always check before for contraindications (any health or medical issues) that would give us reason to adapt or leave the massage for another day.
What should I do after my treatment? Ideally, not too much. Drink water to help flush out toxins. You may feel achey, relaxed or lightheaded. You will receive advise regarding any exercise, activities and follow up sessions at the end of your treatment.
How many sessions will I need? One session can help with an acute musculoskeletal pain for example, caused by awkward sleep position, travelling or stress. If you’re recovering from a surgery, your surgeon will provide a post operative protocol ( a list of do’s and don’t’s). Your surgeon’s notes will guide week by week physiotherapy, to progress your movement, strength and weight bearing safely and steadily. Chronic lung or neurological diseases can benefit from ongoing therapeutic input to help minimise decline, infection and pain and maintain your daily independence and quality of life.
Will my insurance cover my treatment? I always advise to contact your insurance company prior to your first appointment to find out if and how they will cover the cost of treatment. I am happy to liaise with them as needed.
How do I know if physiotherapy is appropriate for my condition? Your first session includes a thorough initial consultation regarding your health and current condition. We will establish your aims and expectations of treatment. If your condition would best be served by medical imaging or tests (such as X-rays) we would refer you on to the relevant medical professional or services as the next step in your care.
